PARENT INTERVIEW: For your interview of a parent with an infant 0-2 years-old, you are required to ask the parents the following questions. Take very detailed notes and provide your reaction: 1. How much did the birth process (i.e., labor and delivery) meet your expectations? 2.What was what you expected and what was different? 3. What is your infant’s sleep pattern? 4. Has your infant developed any routines? 5. What does your infant eat? How often? 6. What personality characteristics have you noticed with your infant? 7. What are some of the physical movements your infant is now able to accomplish? (i.e., holding up his/her head, rolling over, sitting up, crawling, walking, etc.) 8. What preferences does your infant have for other people? 9. Does your infant prefer one person over others? 10. Does your infant go to all people? 11. Does your infant go to individuals of both genders? 12. If you could tell a new parent anything about having a child, what would it be? Finally, provide a summary of what you learned. In total, this observation should be about 2 double spaced pages in length. If you have less than that – ask follow up questions or additional questions. This assignment will be worth 60 points.
