During this unit we learned about social stratification. One form of such stratification is based on sex, gender, gender identity and sexuality. We are going to particularly explore stratification for the gender non conforming/gender queer/transgender community in this Journal Response. Each year hate crimes are committed against the LGBTQI+ communities. Prior to recent years, the LGBTQI community was not protected from federal hate crimes legislation.
