Part 2: Write a Research Paper Drawing on information collected from the interview and current sociological academic research, write a research paper that addresses how individual experiences of the interviewee have been and continue to be shaped by larger social processes and structural forces. The paper should be approximately 1500-2000 words in length (5-6 pages double-spaced, not including title page and reference page). Include at least 4 sociological academic peer reviewed sources + textbook. Include and define all relevant sociological concepts and sociological theory from the course material (e.g., textbook and supplementary material on D2L) in your discussions. To help you with this assessment please read the following resources located on D2L: A. Soci1301 Research Paper Instructions. Watch this short video to learn about how to complete the research paper. B. Consent Form. Print this document and have your subject read and sign before the interview (pdf document on D2L) C. How to Transcribe and Analyze the Data. Helpful tips on how to transcribe the recording and make sense of the information collected during the interview. D. Soci1301 Writing the Research Paper. Detailed instructions of what to include in your research paper (pdf document on D2L). Guidelines:  APA guidelines must be followed.  The consent form, transcript, and research paper must all be submitted to the appropriate dropboxes on D2L by the deadlines outlined in the course schedule.  Create MS Word Documents (.doc or .docx) for the transcript and research paper and upload to D2L by the due date. The consent form can be uploaded as a pdf or jpeg file. Assignments submitted late will be subject to a five percent reduction of the total grade for every day past the due date, including weekends (e.g., if the assignment is three days late, 3 X 5% = 15% will be deducted resulting in a maximum letter grade of A). Assignments more than seven calendar days past the due date, without written approval for extension, will receive a grade of zero (0).  Grades are based on the quality and relevance of academic peer reviewed references, degree to which academic research is provided to support findings from life history interview, degree of integration between sociological concepts / theory and the interview content, discussion of the influence of social context on life events and experiences, and the application of sociological theory to frame the analysis.
