Individual Essay (30%): Every student should prepare an individual essay on the topic given below. The paper should be in proper format of an academic paper in 1,500 to 2,000 words and should be in English. Topic of Individual Essay In Hong Kong, is continuous conflict important for the good of society? Use the social-conflict approach OR structural-functional approach to bolster your analysis. The individual essay should at least include the following sections: Introduction Analysis Conclusion Reference Grading Criteria for Individual Essay: Development of the essay: sound arguments, effective support, analysis, and well-founded conclusions Regarding style, you should write clearly, and put other’s ideas in your own words as much as possible. You should also give credit whenever you have used someone else’s idea. The work is concisely written within the word limit provided. Complete and proper citation following the APA style. Use of English The rubric of individual essay has been uploaded on the CANVAS. In writing up the individual essay, students are reminded to strictly observe the policy and regulation of academic honesty of CCCU. You are required to sign the Declaration of Academic Honesty (see Appendix 1) and use it as a cover sheet of the essay. Students are seriously reminded that plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Procedures for the return of assessed individual essays will be announced via email later. All individual essays should be submitted on/before 30 April 2018, 12:00 noon. A hardcopy should be handed in to the tutor and a softcopy should be sent to Turnitin via CANVAS no later than the deadline. Marks will be deducted for late submission to CANVAS. A deduction of 10% of this assignment will be imposed for every 24 hours.
