Given the wide variety of techniques available to filmmakers to tell “true stories,” discuss three of the ways a filmmaker can compel us to believe that what they have made is understood as authentic. (approximately one page in length) 2. Montage Describe how montage creates political or social meaning in media. Be sure to utilize Eisenstein’s theory of montage and cite specific examples. (approximately a half of a page in length) 3. Media Bodies One theme that has been discussed in this course is one of how media-makers “frame” the body in their works. Compare and contrast the ways that media-makers “frame” the body. Be sure to indicate as least two of these framing devices presented in lecture and/or discussion. How can framing be understood narratively (as with radical representation) versus being understood formally (as with choreographed or stylized strategies)? You might also choose to incorporate analysis from The Critical Media Project, and other readings & articles assigned. (approximately one-and-a-half pages in length)
