THIS IS AN ALR: ANALYTICAL LITERATURE REVIEW: ALR Grading Rubric The students’ Final ALR Report will be graded based on the CSUEB ILO Written Communication Rubric (May 2015) below. Students must pass the ALR assignment based on the requirements below to pass this course. Students who cannot pass the ALR assignment at the level indicated will not pass the class. Student with serious difficulties should also be referred to SCAA or other resources for remediation and assistance with writing. Statement of purpose, thesis or controlling idea: Demonstrates clear understanding of purpose of communication. Clearly develops thesis. Adheres to topic. Students who cannot pass the Final ALR Report as measured by these requirements will not pass the class. ALR Specifications The following specification is the required level for passing this course’s Final ALR Report. The numbers below following each specification are links to the relevant section of the APA Manual, 6th Edition. 1) Technical Requirements a) Has Title – 2.01, 2.02 b) Times New Roman c) 12 pt d) double-spaced e) 1” margins all around f) At least 1500 words g) No more than 2500 words h) Proper Headings – 3.02 – 3.03 i) Free of major grammatical errors – For this requirement, students will be evaluated based on the CSUEB ILO Written Communication Rubric. Successful students should write at level 3 – 2 to pass the assignment. The students must be at the 3 level or mix of 3 and 2. j) Free of spelling errors. 2) The ALR Final Report is well-organized, using a clear and easy to follow structure ( See Chapter 3). 3) The ALR Final Report has a Title Page (See Chapter 2). 4) The ALR Final Report has an Abstract (See Chapter 2). 5) The ALR Final Report has an Introduction section (See Chapter 2). 6) The ALR Final Report has a Method section (See Chapter 2). 7) The ALR Final Report has a Results section (see Chapter 2) 8) The ALR Final Report has a Discussion section (See Chapter 2). 9) The ALR Final Report has a Conclusion section. 10) The ALR Final Report has a References section (see Chapter 2). 11) The ALR uses sufficient relevant and reliable sources to demonstrate mastery of the topic. A minimum of 10 peer-reviewed journal articles is required. Each peer-reviewed journal article must have a volume number and page numbers in addition to other components. A journal issue number may also be required. Each book must have a publisher location and publisher name in addition to other components.) 12) Students must submit the Final ALR Report to Turntin (and receive an Originality Score of 9% or lower) and also deliver a stapled hard copy to class on the due final report date.
