Analyze the situation, presumably violations, according to the relevant international human rights norms, standards, and laws. (You might want to check the “country file” on the UN OHCHR web site to see which human rights conventions have been ratified by that country. If the country has ratified the ICCPR or ICESCR you can use those, or any of the subsequent conventions covering vulnerable groups or severe repressions. If the country hasn’t ratified any, use the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.3.Outine what possible avenues of remedy or redress have been, or might be, utilized or pursued to halt or curb the violations and improve the situation. (One way to look at this part is to think about what, if you were asked what to do by victims or families or friends of victims of violations, what advice would you give them. If there is no other recourse than to document it for history, then say that, and explain why.)For all three parts you may want to refer to the U.S. State Department “Country Reports” for that country; of the entries in the Human Rights Watch annual report, or the Amnesty International or other international NGO web sites, such as the International Crisis Group.
