No-name web sources (notes, socalled policy papers, commentaries) unpublished conference papers, wikipedias, etc, are not acceptable. You must only use the following: academic journals, academic books, formal government documents and documents published by well-known international organizations (UN, WTO, WB, UNCTAD, IMF, etc) (only those with a formal document number). Quality and Substance of Argument/Research Question: Is your argument/research question clearly stated and consistently followed? Does it make sense on the basis of the evidence presented? Is your line of argumentation supported by strong and evidence based analysis? (25 points) 2. Use of Evidence: The use and quality of sources and proper way of referencing them. Are the available sources used responsibly? How notable and appropriate are these sources? Are all ideas and facts taken from outside sources properly cited? (25 points) 3. Organization: Are the points stated in the argument well developed? Do they follow each other logically? Are the substantive transitions (from one idea to the next) made clear and easy to understand? Is there a proper introduction? Does this introduction include a proper thesis statement? Does the conclusion wind up the argument? (20 points) 4. Presentation: Is the paper properly spelled and punctuated? Does it show evidence of care and attention, or does it look sloppy and careless? Is the cover (title) page included? Are the citations and bibliography included and consistently referenced? (10 points) 5. Clarity and Effectiveness of Writing Skills: Is the writing clear enough to convey the author’s meaning? Are the sentence structures clear and acceptable (no colloquial language, please!)? Is the argument difficult to understand because of poor writing? (20 points)
