As of August 29, 2016, commercial drone use has finally been approved by the FAA, but current limitations on it are quite restrictive (see https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2016/08/29/as-of-today-its-finally-legal-to-fly-drones-commercially/ for details). Assuming that the current limitations are eventually lifted (or waived) and Amazon can move forward with the plan described in the video, write a paper that addresses the following points: Describe how this use of drones (as described in the video) fits into the value chain conceptual framework. Is this use of drones applied to a primary process or a support process and why? Do you think drone use will help Amazon to maintain a competitive advantage and why? Describe a competitive force that you feel would be addressed by Amazon’s use of commercial drones in online retail. How would it be addressed? Describe a competitive strategy that you feel would be implemented by Amazon’s use of commercial drones in online retail. How would it be implemented? The use of drones is controversial, as many consumers worry about the safety of the devices. Imagine you are a manager in an online retail company and the CEO has asked you to consider implementing commercial drones for delivering merchandise. In the context of consumer concerns, would you support using drones? Why or why not? The guidelines for your work are as follows: Include your name at the beginning of the paper.
