Select a management theorist, and prepare a FOUR-page paper on her. Of the four pages, the first one may be a summary of the highlights of his or her life, including a biography of home life, schooling, and experiences that led to his or her management theories. The second and third pages should talk about his or her management theories and philosophies, and can include some discussion about the workplace situations that generated the theories, how he or she applied them, and what the workplace looked like after testing them. The final page should include your perspectives on whether these theories and philosophies are still relevant today, and perhaps give some examples of industries or settings where you would find these theories or practices. Use some thoughts from the book, but do some outside research as well. Make sure that you do not copy from other sources word-for-word, but summarize the thoughts into your own words and cite the source (such as Grimes, 2009). Include a fifth page with any sources that you use. Grading will be as follows: Opening Background – up to 10 points Management Theories – up to 35 points Perspectives – up to 25 points References – up to 10 points Structure – up to 5 points Plagiarism – up to 10 points Grammar / Spelling – up to 5 points
