What are present issues with managing the supply chain? (15 marks) 2. What are the objectives of firms participating in a supply chain? (10 marks) 3. What is blockchain technology, and how would such technology address the issues currently facing the supply chain? (15 marks) 4. What are the benefits of adopting blockchain technology and how can this technology be used to create competitive advantages for firms? (15 marks) 5. What are the challenges (or costs, problems and etc.) to adopting blockchian? (15 marks) 6. Suppose that you are a consultant. What would be your recommendation to your client firm? Please explain and justify your recommendation. (15 marks) You need to present your analysis as a type-written formal report, instead of completing the questions in a question-and-answer format. Organize related information into a report with sections under appropriate headings as required by the course outline. Therefore, your report should include the following components (in addition to introduction and conclusion paragraphs/sections): a. Major issues b. Objectives that lead to a solution c. Alternatives contemplated/investigated d. Alternative proposed/selected When a consultant is applying the case analysis method such as in the case of writing a proposal for addressing issues of a client firm, it would be necessary to formulate 3 or more alternatives. Alternative 1 may include a combination of technology and software systems, business process changes, and human resources required. Alternative 2 may include different technology and systems, business process redesign and so on. An alternative proposing “status quo/no change” would be uninteresting and therefore it is not a good alternative. Therefore, the two alternatives you will formulate for your client are to adopt versus not to adopt the technology. In this assignment, it is acceptable to include “status quo/no change” as an alternative. You need to define each of the alternatives and identify the pros and cons for each one. After formulating the alternatives, you will select one of the two alternatives and recommend it to your client. Clearly explain and justify your decision. You may also include information from other sources if it would enhance your report and improve its credibility. It is your own judgment but is not mandatory. Please cite the information sources in your text, and provide appropriate reference(s) in APA format at the back of your report. (If you do not use other information sources, you should at least cite this case study. If you are still not familiar with APA format, please ask me in class or office.)
