Guidelines for the completion of this analysis will be provided. The completion of this type of analysis provides the student the opportunity to accomplish a broad analysis of an actual business situation (both successful and unsuccessful) and be placed in the situation of a manager who is in the position of making a decision with a long-term impact on an organization. This assignment also places the student in a role as part of a consulting team with the task of assessing and analyzing a company’s situation, then developing and presenting a well-researched and comprehensive strategy. As a part of the strategic management analysis project, students will be required to go beyond what is provided in the text and conduct research using outside resources. The assignment is divided into two parts: The first part is the Company Profile and should include the following components: • The organization’s recent history • The current financial and market performance • The corporate governance structure • Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat (SWOT) Analysis The Company Profile section shall be 5 pages minimum in length (Excluding the SWOT) and will be incorporated into the final case study analysis. The number of pages devoted to the SWOT will be 5 pages. The second part is the Case Study Analysis Paper that will include the Company Profile previously submitted and the remaining steps in the strategic management process. As with the Company Profile requirement, the Case Study Analysis will be submitted in writing for evaluation. The Case Study Analysis Paper (including the Company Profile) shall be 15-20 pages in length. Use APA style in writing your paper. Incorporate references from lectures, articles, and outside sources.
