According to Dictionary of visual discourse the existence of culture came (from the Latin colo, colere, cultum, cultura, to cultivate the soil). Of course the nodal word ‘culture’ is as multifaceted as the processes it references. As a multidimensional term, ‘culture’ needs to be defined historically, sociologically, epistemologically and, perhaps, metaphysically.
