When you are on the site, use the drop-down menus to find the 2015 YRBS high school data for the state of North Carolina. When you see only the data for North Carolina, check the boxes on the left side of the screen to limit the data only to ‘Sexual Behaviors’ for ’10th Grade’. Now, you should see only the information pertaining to 10th graders in North Carolina who participated in the YRBS for 2015. You can now find out if there is a statistical difference between female and male students in terms of the different sexual health variables. Find the box labeled “Compare Two” and click it. Next, look at the reported percentages for boys and girls for each of the variables, so you can see the differences. What percentage of North Carolina 10th grade girls reported that they were “currently sexually active”? How does that compare with the 10th grade boys? Next, look at the p-values: Is there a statistically significant difference between boys and girls for any of the sexual behavior variables? The Cochrane Library is a collection of “systematic reviews” of experimental studies in medicine and health promotion. We can use the Cochrane Library to see if prior studies of a health issue can help us determine “what works” best to change health behaviors or treat medical problems. According to the Cochrane Library, is there evidence that interactive computer-based interventions (ICBI’s) are effective at improving people’s sexual self-efficacy, behavioral intentions, and actual sexual behavior (such as using condoms)? If so, is that evidence very strong? Take some notes, as you may need them for the questions in this assignment. Then answers questions attached and be very detailed as you answer each question.
