Motivation Background: Individuals are unique, so motivation is perceived differently by everyone. The same can be said about what demotivates us. Finding a balance in the workplace is the goal for managers and employees alike. For this assignment, you will interview three professionals, all with different backgrounds. Tasks: Conduct telephonic or in-person interviews with three professionals of varying backgrounds. In a Microsoft Word document, be sure to include the following about each interviewee: Name, company/industry, gender, and age range and how long he or she has been in his or her current role. What motivates the interviewee in the workplace and why? What types of rewards are in place for going “above and beyond”? What demotivates him or her in the workplace and why? How does he or she self-motivate when he or she doesn’t reach a work goal? (What steps does he or she take if/when he or she suffers a setback in the workplace?)
