Prepare an essay to be submitted in class the first week. This essay should focus on your most recent purchase of a major product. Answer the following questions. Use sub-headings to completely respond to each of the following bullet points. What do you believe are the needs satisfied by this purchase? How do they differ from the needs of other buyers of the same product? How would you describe the market segmentation, as you see the characteristics applying to yourself? Identify other market segments the manufacturer might wish to serve. Be prepared to discuss these during week one. For clarity, essays should be 2-3 typed, double-spaced pages, and include textbook citations (references) in an appropriate documentation style (MLA). Essays will be graded for content, clarity, analysis and support of statements, application of the readings, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
