HIV/AIDS epidemic has raised many ethical challenges for public health officials, researchers and clinicians, reaching from macro-level policy to micro-level clinical decisions. GLOBAL HEALTH ISSUES AND ETHICS PAPER This is one of your key signature assignments in this class and is worth a substantial part of your overall grade (125 total points). The purpose of this assignment is to reinforce the overreaching topics of both global health issues and the ethical implications of such. Indeed, it is difficult to find a health topic that does not have some type of ethical dilemma and my hope is that this class and this assignment will enable you to view health issues in a different way; questioning yourself and others. Now, before we get down to specific requirements, let me first say that: 1) Despite what the syllabus says, I am not requiring any specific formatting style. You have all learned to format in other classes and my purpose is not that of a writing teacher. Grammar and punctuation will be noted, but I am looking for QUANTITY, HONESTY, THOUGHTFULNESS, PASSION and CONTENT in this paper. I would much rather you concentrate of conveying your thoughts, opinions and passion on your subject than on formatting. 2) That being said, there is one formatting item which will drive me crazy and may cause you to fail this assignment and that is IN-TEXT citations. This paper will require the use of resources and references and if any of that content is used in your paper (which is should be), you MUST cite that resource in text. For instance; Mr. Johnson says, “this is indeed an ethical concern.” (Johnson, 2016). Please ask me if you have questions and if ever in doubt, cite! Your paper will have the following requirements: PART 1: 2 pages MINIMUM that will introduce your topic by discussing your interest in it; why you chose to write on it, etc. Provide a background into the subject and think of this as the introduction to the rest of the paper. Be sure to cite any sources that you use for information, background, etc. PART 2: 2 pages MINIMUM on the ethical aspects of your topic; you may reference the theories we have discussed, but more than that, I want to hear what the possible ethical conflicts (pros and cons) are; what ethics must be considered on this subject? Be sure to cite any sources that you use. PART 3: Reference page with at least 10 references; these must be reputable references. No Wikipedia or fluff sources (please ask if you have a question on what an acceptable resource is).
