Assignment 1:
For this assignment, you will be placed (virtually) in a real-world scenario that occurs in schools. Please read the following description of the authentic performance task and complete the requirements as described in the scenario.
“Imagine you are the Early Intervention Specialist in a school district that is working to build relationships and provide support for families with children who have special needs. You would like to create a supportive training program for families that provides: (1) Emotional support for these families, (2) creates options for family involvement in the learning process, (3) teaches families to adapt and adjust to the changes the family and child are experiencing, and (4) Outlines resources for families in YOUR community (these should be actual resources that are available in your community.” Include information such a phone numbers and web addresses for actual resources in your community.
Outline this training in writing and develop three key methods/ideas of support for each part of the program. Your plan should be realistic, coherent, and precise, and should address all three required components in a research-based manner using text support and outside research to create a comprehensive training presentation plan.

Assignment 2:
The purpose of this assignment is to have students familiarize themselves with the practice of planning for the general education curriculum while anticipating the need for modifications and accommodations for students needing modified content and delivery of instruction. This is a three (3) part activity.
