• Selecting a project
  • In IT487, you developed a business case. This business case consisted of system components, requirements, and a technical design document.
  • As a group, hold a discussion, and select the IT network system application project you will implement in this course. This will be one of the projects that were designed in IT487.
• Selecting a system development methodology
  • You have had a chance to research and consider various system development methodologies. As a group, hold a discussion and select a system development methodology that your team will use for the project.
• Work breakdown structure
  • Using the design from the selected IT487 project, create a work breakdown structure (WBS). This will be used to plan the work for each week. Break the project down into realistic tasks, and assign the tasks to group members. Your plan should reflect the system development methodology that your team will follow, as well as a plan for each week. If you are using an iterative approach to development, you will need to plan each iteration.
• Communication Plan
  • As a group, hold a discussion to develop a communication plan. This will help you outline the format of your quality management report. The quality management report will be used to report the status of the project to stakeholders each week. Create a template for your quality management report with appropriate sections that will document the status of the project each week. The report should also document risks and how they are handled. You need to develop a communication plan so that this quality management report is updated each week.
